Corporations must comply with legislation, regulation and other relevant statutes. That is their 'social' responsibility. Period.

If government or society want corporations to be more 'socially responsible' then it must be legislated for so that corporations know exactly what they need to do to comply.

Since management and directors use their subjective judgements (because they are human), and because those judgements vary between people, then no consistent measure for 'social responsibility' is possible - always to the detriment of shareholders.
